About Us

Like every club, RLSC has a group of regular members who tend to be racing every weekend and other members who can make it to the lake less often. Committee Members information can be found on the Contact Us page.

Club racing remains handicap based, with a small number of members active throughout the year, but most of the racing is done in the warmer weather of June-September.There is a high level of sailing in the Laser fleet, and the club also has a past Supernova champion, RS 400 & Rs Aero sailing regularly along with Dart catamarans. The racing is fun with the lake providing the biggest challenge with its size and winds, but the racing is put on to suit all levels of ability. The club of course benefits from water watch & rescue provided by the trust, so unlike many clubs, rescue duties are not required.

    Facilities at the Club

There are changing rooms, toilets and hot showers available all through the week, courtesy of the SW Lakes Trust. Dinghies can be kept in the Boat Park all year round or just for short term periods.

The Club constitution can be found here.

How to get to the club

The Club and lake are just off the A30 between Okehampton and Launceston in Devon. So, whether approaching from the East or West look out for the brown signs for Roadford Lake and exit the A30 at Broadwoodwidger. (Both of the slip roads off the A30 are quite short and have sharp bends - towing vehicles are advised to slow down for them!)

From the East... If coming from the East, turn right at the first junction after the A30 exit and follow the road for about 3 miles. You will see the dam with the lake on your right hand side. Go over the dam and take the first right into the Watersports Centre.

From the West... If coming from the West turn left at the first junction after the A30 and follow the road for about 3 miles. You will see the dam with the lake on your right hand side. Go over the dam and take the first right into the Watersports Centre.
